This weekend was a great one. Taking a trip to park city with the girls, Driving six of them in a big SUV that I have not driven forever since I bought a new mini.... Was a little nerve racking.... I also didn't know exaclty where I was going so we took a little scenic route and went too far.... OOPS! The girls had a blast- swimming, watching tv, doing glitter toes ( all MCKAY), and playing silly games. I also had to be a chef and cook pizza for all of them. Luckily they didn't burn- but I was being made fun of from my little ones as always. Thanks Girls!
I left super early the next morning to drive all the way home then all the way down to provo for the Miss Utah Little Miss Day of Service. I met my little miss Mattie- who is darling and hilarious! I am so lucky to have her as my little miss... Not only that but all of the Miss Utah contestants were able to serve all day long. Making blankets, tying fleece, making puppets, necklaces, drawing and coloring on cloth. All of which these things go to the Primary Children's hospital for the patients. I have volunteered up there for two years and been able to see first hand where all the donations go, who benefits from it and how the kids react to them. It is incredible to see the difference the blankets make, and the toys and arts and crafts help the kids to think about fun in their life rather than the pain they are going thru. To see tubes and i.v.s in a two year old or even younger babies- it is attached by tape and gauz- some crying because it hurts or irritates them. How I wish so bad to take that away from them. It is then that I realize life is so precious and meaningful. That these families are going through so much and need so much in return. Service and charity are what life is all about...
Tina got married on Saturday. She is one of my greatest friends from dancing on the Nu-Skin Jazz Dance team. She looked quite beautiful! It was fun to see all the jazz girls there and be able to take my best friend Garrett. Whom I admire greatly because of his perserverance, dedication, athleticism, genuineness, kind heart, and knowledge. Thanks for all that you do.
We played a fun game after the reception and that is we each picked three directions on where to go- ending in six different turns and drives ( this was in the process of finding a good place to eat, we didnt know where or what but we just went where the directions lead us!) We ended up at Gateway eating at Z Teja's. Sharing a steak entree, Garrett taught me spanish at the dinner table and I will be taking up a spanish class in the near future so I can be really good at it.
